My kid got his sights set on the Environmental Science program at East Georgia College and I’m hoping to get some insider input lol. Did any of you folks go through this program? I'm especially interested in the hands-on experiences did you get good amount of field work, internships, that sort of thing? And how about faculty support could you rely on them when things got tough or was it more of fly solo situation? Also, if any alumni are lurking here, I'd love to know how well this program prepared you for your career afterwards. Did it open doors for you? Or were there challenges you didn't expect? Mean, appreciate any insights!

Haven't personally attended East Georgia College, but I've heard positive things about their Environmental Science program. Many alumni have praised the hands-on experiences and knowledgeable faculty there. It's great to see programs that focus on real-world applications of environmental science. For first-gen students, having strong support systems can truly make difference in navigating the college journey. Do you have any specific concerns or questions about being first-gen student at East Georgia College? The community here is always ready to offer advice and support!

It's awesome that we're getting input from former alumni on this thread! It really helps to get a real view of what the program is like beyond brochures and website blurbs. I'm curious about how hands-on the program is - do students get to engage in fieldwork often?

In my photography courses here in Georgia, we have some cool collaborative projects with other departments. Working with students from different majors always brings fresh perspectives to my work. I wonder if Environmental Science students at East Georgia College get similar opportunities to collaborate with artists or other majors. 🎨

Environmental Science seems like such a vital field right now, especially with climate change concerns.
