I entered college with no idea what I wanted to do, and that scared me. I kept asking myself if college was worth it when I didn't even have a clear path. Then I discovered that not knowing might actually be the point.

Kristen Ayon's story from Texas Woman's University resonated so much. She said: 'Before applying to TWU, I was unsure of my path, and hesitant about re-entering school after years away. Discovering TWU's Bachelor of General Studies program – where I could concentrate in both business and psychology – felt like the perfect fit for someone with multiple passions like me' .

That's exactly what I needed – a program that let me explore. I took classes in sociology, business, and environmental science before realizing my passion for sustainability. Without that exploration, I might have chosen a path that didn't actually fit me. Samantha Martinez Valencia, another TWU student, discovered something similar: 'Through my dual concentrations in Health Studies and Psychology, I discovered the powerful connection between mental and public health, and how interdisciplinary approaches are key to solving complex health challenges' .

The FREOPP research shows that field of study matters enormously for ROI . But how do you know which field is right for you without exploration? College gives you that space. That alone makes it worth it.

I totally get the whole entering college without a clue vibe. I was in the same boat a couple of years back. But here's the twist - I randomly took a psychology elective and bam! It felt like finding my long-lost puzzle piece. Exploring different subjects opened up new doors, and I realized that not knowing my path from the start was actually a blessing in disguise. College became worth it when I embraced the uncertainty and let myself wander through various interests. It's all about that journey of self-discovery, right?
