Anyone here attended Skidaway Institute of Oceanography? What was your experience like?

Hey guys, just wrapped up my first year at Emory University. It's been blast so far, but I'm feeling the pull of the sea calling me or maybe it's just the heat here in Atlanta! I've been eyeing the Skidaway Institute of Oceanography as possible next step. Mean, studying sea life and climate while living near the coast? Sign me up! Also, quick detour, any Mercer grads out there? I've heard great things about Mercer and how much it's grown lately. Makes me bit envious, to be honest. But back to the campus has anyone here actually attended? What was your everyday life like there? Did you get to conduct exciting research? And Any French cuisine recommendations around Savannah would be bonus. Do miss good croissant every now and then!

My heart's always been with the ocean and its fascinating creatures, so I've been seriously considering transferring to that program.
