Stressed about writing deadlines at UGA - anyone else overwhelmed?

I'm kinda struggling with the whole fieldwork logistics and sample analysis situation. Like, how do you all manage to keep track of everything without losing your mind? And don't even get me started on the geological interpretation - it's like trying to read a story from a bunch of stones! I'm really feeling the pressure lately, and it's starting to stress me out big time.

ikr so, i gotta ask my georgia comrades: anyone else out there feeling overwhelmed by the college workload? any tips on how to stay sane while juggling all these demands? on another note, how 'bout them georgia college resources? are there any hidden gems on campus that help with writing skills or handling fieldwork challenges?

Arthur first off, "reading a story from a bunch of stones" is going to be my new favorite description of geology and i'm stealing it forever.

second, i'm a grad student here and i remember the undergrad fieldwork struggle ALL too well. the thing that finally clicked for me was realizing that geological interpretation is basically pattern recognition with extra steps. you're looking for what's consistent, what's weird, and what might explain the weird.

for writing support, definitely check out the Willis Center for Writing . they won't edit your paper for you but they'll ask really good questions that help you figure out what you're actually trying to say. also the UGA Libraries have subject-specific librarians who might be able to point you to better resources for your fieldwork area .

and seriously, if the stress is getting to you, CAPS has 24/7 crisis support at 706-542-2273 . no shame in using it. college is HARD and geology is HARDER. be kind to yourself!!
