Fieldwork logistics? Sample analysis? Geological interpretation? Yep, those keep me up at night too! With an upcoming geology exam looming over my head like a dark storm cloud, I'm feeling the pressure. 😅 Does anyone have any recommendations for study groups on campus that could help a stressed geology student out? I'm all about that observant and analytical life, but sometimes discussing concepts with others can really solidify my understanding. Finding a group of peers who are also knee-deep in rocks and minerals could be a game-changer for me.

Plus, sharing experiences and insights from different courses like Mineralogy and Sedimentology might give us all an edge in tackling our exams together!

Navigating the world of geology is no walk in the park, especially when it comes to fieldwork challenges and interpreting geological data. But hey, we're all in this together, right? Let's support each other through this rocky (pun intended) journey! 🌟

The fieldwork logistics thing you mentioned? Yeah that kept me up too. What finally clicked for me was actually doing the fieldwork instead of just reading about it. Sounds obvious but hear me out.

There's a Campus Geomorphology Field Trip that some classes do . It's literally just walking around the G-G building and campus looking at rocks and answering questions. I did it with two friends from class and we turned it into a competition. "Who can find the Pennington Formation first?" "What period is the Entrada Sandstone?" By the end we'd learned more than in three lectures.

The rock cycle display on the first floor of G-G is also lowkey great for studying. It's right there near the stairs — go stare at it until it makes sense. Gravel, sand, clay. Three types of sediment. Repeat it until you dream about it. 😂

Also: The bulletin board outside the geology department office always has flyers for study groups and tutoring. Check it every time you walk by. That's how I found a Mineralogy review session that literally saved my GPA.
