I just learned that Taylor Swift got an honorary doctorate from NYU in 2022 and I'm so emotional about it! She spoke at Yankee Stadium to over 30,000 graduates and gave this amazing commencement speech full of life advice.
She joked about being 'technically a doctor' but not the kind you want in an emergency . NYU honored her for her musical achievements, philanthropy, and cultural impact . She never had the traditional college experience, but getting to address all those graduates in cap and gown was such a beautiful moment. Her speech about learning from embarrassment and carrying life lightly still lives in my head rent-free!

As someone who is currently drowning in finals stress, seeing her up there was so inspiring. She may not have done the dorm-life thing, but her advice about "learning to carry life lightly" is the only thing getting me through this semester. It’s amazing to see the university recognize cultural impact alongside academics. So proud of her doesn't even cover it!
