Seeking a "chill" student job in Savannah that doesn't drain my creative soul

Hey peaches!

I'm a SCAD student drowning in projects and I desperately need a source of income that isn't my dwindling savings. I need a college student job here in Georgia (Savannah area specifically) that is the opposite of stressful. I cannot handle another high-pressure environment—my studio time is chaotic enough!

I’m looking for something quiet, maybe a bit quirky. I saw a listing for a clerk at a vintage bookshop near Forsyth Park and I literally dreamed about it. I need a place where the vibes are immaculate, the boss doesn't mind if I sketch during downtime, and the customers are nice. Maybe a cute café that plays lo-fi beats, or a gallery sitter position?

I’m not even that worried about the pay, honestly. Minimum wage is fine if the atmosphere is zen. I just can't work retail or fast food again. It makes my hands shake and my art gets all angsty.

Does anyone have the inside scoop on any hidden spots hiring? I’m willing to walk everywhere. Please share your secrets—I’ll bring you a free croissant from my future job, I promise!

OMG I know exactly which bookshop you're talking about!! It's called The Book Lady Bookstore on MLK Blvd and it's literally heaven on earth. I don't think they're hiring rn but check their Instagram. Also try The Vault on Broughton - vintage vibes and the owners are super chill about employees sketching during downtime. Good luck!
