I failed my first test. I thought my life was over. It wasn't. 📉

I got the grade on my phone. 47. I stared at it. Thought I was going to fail the class. Lose my scholarship. Have to move home.

I didn't go to class the next day. Or the next. Three days.

Then I went to office hours. I said: "I failed."

My professor said: "I know. Let's talk about why."

We looked at my test. I didn't study wrong. I didn't study at all. I was overwhelmed. I was scared. I was avoiding.

She said: "You can still pass this class. But you have to come to office hours every week. And you have to do all the practice problems."

I did. I went every week. I did every problem. I passed with a C. Not great. But I passed.

I didn't know you could fail and still be okay. You can. 📉

Hey Garry 👋
The real test wasn't the one you failed. It was the three days after. That's when most people spiral, drop the class, or just disappear. You didn't. You walked into office hours and said "I failed" out loud. That takes guts.

Also – that professor? Gold. "I know. Let's talk about why." No judgment. No lecture. Just let's fix it. Those are the professors who actually teach. Not the material. The how to recover. Keep going to her office hours even if you're passing now.
