Experiences with Kennesaw State University's Software Engineering Program: Are the Internship Opportunities Worth it?

Hey y'all! 
I haven't personally experienced the Software Engineering Program's internships, but I've heard mixgd reviews. Some students rave about the hands-on experience while others mention a lack of mentorship. Have any of you HR folks tried switching gears into software engineering for internships? I'm curious to know if the skills transfer well between the two fields!
