Georgia Southern: More than just "that party school in Statesboro." 🦬

I gotta defend my school for a second. I'm a junior at Georgia Southern, and I'm so tired of the eye rolls when I tell people where I go. "Oh, Statesboro? Party school, right?" Like, yeah, we have fun. It's college. But can we talk about the actual education?

First of all, our logistics and supply chain program is legitimately top-tier. Like, ranked among the best in the nation. Graduates walk into jobs with Delta, Gulfstream, Home Depot. No joke.

Second, the campus culture is real. The "GATA" (Get After That Ass) thing sounds silly, but it's actually about school spirit and pushing through challenges. Our football games are electric. The new dining hall is actually incredible (way better than any food I had on the tour of UGA, sorry not sorry).

Third, Statesboro is growing. There's more to do now than just frat parties—breweries, a cool downtown, and you're an hour from Savannah and the beach.

Is it for everyone? Maybe not. It's hot, it's flat, it's in the middle of nowhere. But if you want a school with spirit, strong career placement, and a sense of community where you're not just a number, don't write us off.

Other Georgia Southern students—what do you wish people knew about our school? Let's fight the stereotype together! 😤

The difference is night and day. At UGA, I felt like a cog. Here, my advisor knows my name, my major. The career prep is actually practical—my logistics prof brought in a Delta recruiter to our class.

Yeah, Statesboro isn't Athens. But I wasn't going to Athens every night anyway? I was in my dorm stressing about exams. At least here I can go to a football game and actually feel like I'm part of something.

The party school rep is lazy journalism from 20 years ago. This place is legit. Thanks for posting this, Antuan. 🙌
